Which means if we don’t think we’re your best option, we’ll always be honest with you. That doesn’t mean we don’t want your business to succeed, or we don’t believe it will take off. It just means that we know someone else will be a better option for you. With that in mind, here are a few reasons you shouldn’t work with us. You want the website to solve everything for you
First and foremost, if you think a shiny new website is going to right every wrong and cure every ill, you’re probably going to be left disappointed. Everyone is online these days, which means simply having a website for the sake of it won’t take any attention away from other issues you’re facing.
We’re not trying to criticise your approach here, far from it. We just want to ensure you get what you expect for your hard-earned money. If we think that there are other issues that a website won’t be able to solve, we’ll let you know. That way you can make the smart choices that take your business in the right direction faster than you can imagine.
You only care about cutting costs
Whilst we’re passionate about offering value for money, we also believe that the cheapest offer and the best offer are often two very different things. If you’re looking for budget development, design, and maintenance, we’re not going to be your best choice.
Our skills are always fairly and affordably priced, but we always need to make sure we have the time we need to do a job we’re proud to put our name to. If we took every single job, no matter how low the budget, we simply wouldn’t be able to do it. Whilst we’re always happy to hear from new clients, if we think we can’t deliver quality for the price you need, we’ll always be straight with you.
You don’t want to do anything
Now, this one might take a little explanation. If you want to work with a team that will do every single thing for you, then we’re not the best option for you. We see what we do as a collaboration more than anything else, so we always look for clients who feel the same as we do.
It’s your business when it comes down to it, and that means you’ll know your products, services, and customers far better than we do. With your help, we can get to know them all as if they were our own, but without you, we wouldn’t be able to make much headway. For this reason, we’re always searching for clients who’re ready to collaborate, bounce around new ideas, and provide us with the feedback and input that makes all the difference.
You’re looking for someone who always agrees with you
Being on the same page and agreeing about the end result is all-important, but if you want someone who agrees with everything you say, we’re not what you need. Whilst you’re the experts when it comes to your business, and we respect that, we’re specialists at what we do.
If we can see something that’s in need of urgent attention, we’re going to let you know. It’s what you’d want from a team of experts you’re paying to get things as good as they can be, so there’s really nothing to be gained by dismissing it out of hand.
Our goal is never to be objectionable or overly forceful — it’s to ensure you have everything you need to get the results you deserve. From time to time that’s going to involve us suggesting changes and approaches that are at odds with your current way of doing things, and that’s a good thing. It means we’re moving forward together.
You need a techie to code an existing design
Sometimes you’ll need a techie to code a design someone else has already made, and there’s really nothing wrong with that. The only reason we’ve added it to our list is it’s not something we can help with. Of course, we wish you well with it, but we can’t help with it, unfortunately.
You want someone who manages every tiny change
When you want someone who will charge you $300 to change your contact details at the bottom your homepage, we’re not the team for you. We’re always on hand to help with the maintenance and update side of things, but that doesn’t mean we think we should be doing every little thing for you.
It’s not because we don’t want to, or we can’t be bothered, it’s because we want to give you the skills and confidence you need to take control. It’ll give you the oversight and big picture you need, and it’ll also save you plenty of money in the process. What could be better?
You want to meet face-to-face at all times
Meeting in person is great, but we focus on what we do best. Communication is one of our strongest skill sets, but we do it in a different way. Working remotely gives us the freedom we need to get the job done the right way, and it also frees you up to focus on what you do best. We think of it as a win-win situation, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
You can’t afford to wait a minute longer for your site
There’s nothing wrong with being in a rush, but we’re not the overnight service you’re looking for. There are plenty of people who will be able to offer these virtually instant turnarounds, but we move at a different pace. It’s not because we’re taking far too long, or because the other agencies are rushing things through too fast. It’s because we’ve created a process that we know works, and we’ve figured out how to provide you with everything you need so that it’s right the first time.
You think if we build it the world will come
Building a website is just one aspect of growing a successful business, and whilst it’s what we do, we know there’s so much else you’ll have to do behind the scenes. When you come to us with dreams of having your new site tripling your turnover in 3 weeks, we’ll be honest with you that that’s incredibly unlikely to happen. It’s not about being negative or naysaying, it’s about setting realistic expectations that ensure you’re not left disappointed.
You’re always in a rush and can’t spare the time
Business moves fast, we get that. But there’s never anything to be gained by rushing your initial brief and glossing over the key details. We value your time, of course, but we do need to be able to connect with you, get to know your business, and take the time to understand what you’re looking to achieve.
You want to be bigger than Google
Last but not least, we’re not set up to turn you into the next Google. We’ve got plenty of skills and creativity and a whole host of technical knowledge, but we’re just not equipped for a project of that scale. We’re realistic about what we can offer, and when you’re realistic about what you want to achieve, we’ll be able to work with you to make it happen.
